Sorry, you can't say MySpace is "entirely" .NET and still have "parts of
the site" running CF. Even if we're talking about CFMX as a .NET
assembly, it's still CF as a language, not CF as a server that's running
at least the presentation layer. I wouldn't hesitate in believing it if
I heard they were migrating from CF to .NET on the language side based
on the issues they've had with performance and scale.

To answer Kipp's original question, deciding what's the best tool for
the job depends on what the job is. Without defining that, it's like
building a site without requirements.

Nope. Myspace is entirely .NET. The parts of the site that are running
in ColdFusion are essentially doing so in ASP.NET 2.0 (via
BlueDragon).

Also, Match.com (the company I work for) has ditched CF on the worlds
largest CF site (all international portions of match.com and gone
.NET. We went from 49 CF servers to 29 .NET servers which handle the
traffic with a fraction of CPU utilization.

For large scale sites, there is no comparison between .NET and CF.
Dot Net wins hands down. Sorry, I love CF, but couldn't recommend it
for very large scale sites.
