Well, Elan, the brutal truth is that /Command was suppose to be out in
like November, and the mid-January window for /View is closing rapidly.
I'm concerned that the REBOL Tech product announcements are losing
credibility. Personally, I do think that if /View is so close, then
/View should be the priority -- If for no other reason than to get
something else out the door.

But, as a REBOL advocate, rather than for REBOL Tech to get in the
habit of perpetually slipping dates, I'd suggest that /View, where ever
it now stands, be released as a "beta" (or an alpha-beta), and perhaps
be finished as an active open source project. Carl already said that
the source would be released.

If the project goes well, maybe REBOL/Core will be released so RT can
focus on /Command. If it does not go well, then it is probably too soon
for REBOL open source.

We all know how difficult scheduling a software project can be, and
I've missed as many deadlines as anyone else (heck, I'm missing one
now). But announcing hypothetical dates for products that never ship
isn't helpful. Carl announced that the beta for /View would ship right
about now, and I hope he sticks to that, one way or the other.

By my reckoning, mid-January expires at the end of this work week.

-Ted.
