Here's what excites me: "We are talking about adding REBOL to Web
applications. Web applications become programmable in REBOL! This is Web
applications with Internet processing programmable inREBOL! This is Internet
applications with Web interfaces programmable in REBOL!"

;-)

Unfortunately, aside from a few toy applications, we can't build real,
commercial-grade Web apps in Rebol, yet.

That's why all this sudden shift of focus onto GUI toolkit development
rankles; there's a community of Web developers out there that have been
waiting for some time for promised functionality. We're essentially blocked
without it. We could do a lot to validate Rebol and drive its success.
There's a spot open for the "next Perl." Python's got the lead, but Rebol has
a good shot --- and /View doesn't do a damn thing for that cause. As an aside,
this underscores the problems with a closed / proprietary language development
effort.
