So you will adapt the breaker with a mechanical connection to the
clutch cable?
Breaker ON - clutch cable tight
Breaker OFF - clutch cable loose
Not a bad idea. The breaker still does its job is needed and
provides the "smoking disconnect" aspect of "The Big Red Button."
I like the idea a lot. I think Andrew came up with it but I don't recall.
A minor point to consider with a keyed contactor is power
consumption of the contactor coil. Power management and vehicle
weight are the two disciplines that make or break EV/EM performance.
Ideally the contactor wouldn't energize until you commanded motor
operation.
How much power does the coil of a contactor draw? Anyone?
