I expect the controller to fail full on, a scary thought with two
eteks at 72v.

That's how my Golftek failed - full on. Messy, messy.
Power consumption of a Curtis Albright SW200-505 is 1.72a at 13.8v
or almost 24 watts!
I'd never have thought it was that high!
