Could I also add James Patterson's Maximum Ride, The Angel Experiment? It is the kind of book that gets kids hooked immediately. I read it aloud to my students and most bought the two sequels. We love it. Of course it is being made into a movie. I have such mixed emotions about this! While there are still many readers of Harry Potter, too many of them just wait for the movie. I love the fact that Bill's family is reading the book together. We have done that too!.
