On the Spade website, they suggest that a two-way (left-right) swivel should
not be directly attached to the anchor - there should be a shackle
in-between OR one should use a four-way swivel (adding up-down). One
manufacturer calls it a multi-flex swivel. There is also a WASI ball swivel
which has a good reputation. I bent my aluminum Spade stock using a two-way
swivel WITH a shackle. As far as I can tell, the damage occurred during
retrieval. I've switched to a galvanized Rocna and am grateful that we now
have real examples of galvanic corrosion while using a stainless swivel.
I'll still use it, but I won't use it for long-term anchoring.

Thank you,

Ron Rogers
