One way to select an anchor light based on the CG requirements. Another is to look at the light from all angles in the dark about 100 yards from the boat while there is fog or rain. Remember that a boat will approach it at the low level of a person in a dinghy as well as the higher level of the helmsperson of a tug or fishing boat. The approaching boat will likely be moving with some speed and with a more or less sober skipper. |Consider there may be shore lights in conflict with the anchor light. My experience suggests two very bright lights. The CG requirements are minimal .
Consequently, I am looking for the brightest LED anchor light bulb possible. And preferably with a bulb that has only one element since those with many LEDs bulb will have some LEDs die that may go unnoticed unless you look directly at the specific defunct LED cell. Therefore, I'd appreciate advice on where I can get the brightest LED possible that will fit an anchor light fixture. In my case two contacts on the bottom of a bayonet base.
