I have heard of cases where cops have complained about both positions. "Where best seen" is a matter of opinion.
Up on the mast truck an anchor light can sometimes be lost in the star field or be out of the major area of attention of an approaching helmsman. A light lower down can be occulted by rigging/mast/biminis/etc. Perhaps the best for safety would be two lights low on either side of the mast a bit above the boom. As long as it is left up to the "judgement" of cops you will always run the risk of being "illegal". Norm S/V Bandersnatch Lying Gloucester MA > So here is the question. The "where best seen" part makes me wonder. _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list [email protected] To adjust your membership settings over the web http://liveaboardonline.com/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] The archives are at http://www.liveaboardonline.com/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html
