Hi Ed,
Are you measuring from the waterline to the top of the mast? 
I am assuming that the lightning rod is an additional 3 feet. That would
make your required clearance 52 feet. Is that accurate?

I forget, but is there a draft board on that bridge and did you notice
the stated clearance?
