Hi there, welcome to Mondays Levy Letter. I hope you had a good weekend. I know the cast of the BBCs pantomime have spent the weekend rehearsing and learning their lines. Well done to them. I know BBC Look Norths Caroline Davis is hamming it up as Prince Charming and I think you might be able to spot our reporters, Phillip Norton, Simon Spark, Amanda Thomson and Leanne Brown in the cast as well. And you cant stop him treading the boards, BBC Radio Humbersides breakfast presenter, Andy Comfort will be showing his softer side for once as Buttons. Im sure theyre all biting their fingernails and getting butterflies in their stomachs at this point, but they should just remember the incredible amount of money they raise each year for charities in our region. Wednesday morning on BBC Radio Humberside, theyll be announcing where the money wi! ll be going this year and which charities have been selected. ! So suppo rt the cast of the pantomime if you can as its all going to some very good causes in our region.
Tonights Look North Ill be with you as normal for tonights Look North. And Paul will have the forecast for us as usual. And if so, are you dreading reaching Christmas Eve with still lots of presents to hastily wrap and throw under the tree? If so, then this Wednesday in the Open Centre therell be a wrapping expert demonstrating gift wrapping techniques. Theyre wanting suggestions for awkward shaped presents to challenge her with. Weve come up with the normal ones like a bottle of wine or a teddy bear. Any other awkward shaped presents, you can think of, then let me know or pop down to the Open Centre on Wednesday to get some handy hints! TV The trails are out on BBC One at the moment for the Christmas schedules. One thing that looks quite exciting is the latest remake of Oliver Twist. Always a big favourite isnt it? And this latest remake has an incredible cast to its name. Rob Brydon will be Mr Fang, Timothy Spall will be Fagin, Sophie Okenedo will be Nancy and then theyre introducing two newcomers into the roles of Oliver and the Artful Dodger. So that begins on Tuesday December 18th. And another brilliant adaptation for the family over Christmas is Ballet Shoes, the adaptation of the Noel Streatfield novel. And thats starring Emma Watson just arrived back from the Harry Potter set and also Victoria Wood. Its always a joy to see her on the screen isnt it? Also over Christmas, something that Im very excited to see is the Extras Christmas Special! Im a huge fan of that. And it looks like theres a huge Dance Season happening on BBC Four. Im sure many of us will be a bit strapped for cash over the ! festive period and might not be able to afford to go to the theatre, but therell be lots of ballets and operas screened on BBC Four over the holiday period. And as I mentioned before To The Manor Born is coming back as well for a Christmas special. So there are lots of programmes Ill be circling in the TV Guide! Well, that's it from me for now. Take care and keep in touch with me this week. If theres a story that you think we should cover, then let me know. Or if you were out and about over the weekend, then let me know where you popped to. A busy weekend for Lincolns Christmas market and also for Beverleys Festival of Christmas. If you were out at any of those events and you happened to take a few pictures, then send them to me so we could have a look at them on the programme.
