Good afternoon! It’s Peter here with your Letter. Tonight on the programme,
we’ll take a look at why dozens of police officers have been unlawfully
arresting people for three years. We'll investigate what's led to this mistake
and find out what's being done to correct it.

We'll be at Bridlington Hospital with the Shadow Health Minster, who's visiting
to hear concerns about plans to reduce the services at the site.

We'll find out about East Yorkshire council's latest plans to bring in dog
control orders that will restrict where owners can take their pets. We’ll find
out what this’ll mean for dog owners. I’m sure we’ll be wanting your views on
this too during the programme!

Look North will be back at the school in Sleaford where fifty children were
taken to hospital after a minor chemical leak in the premises.

Plus we'll be taking a look behind the scenes at the Old Bakery Restaurant in
Lincoln as they go head to head with Jamie Oliver in a bid to win a top tourism
award.

And it's the BBC's School News Day. Take a look at how children in Lincolnshire
have been given the task of becoming a radio or TV presenter for the day. And
in the meantime if you want to find out more about this project, then take a
look at our website on bbc.co.uk/humber/schoolreport.

Short Men

Have you heard this before? Girls – did your mothers always warn you against
going out with short men? Well, I read today that short men are apparently the
most jealous. And there have been some very busy scientists looking into this!
Well that’s a relief! Spanish and Dutch researchers have quizzed almost five
and a half hundred men and women to rate how jealous they felt and to identify
the qualities that made them feel the most insecure. Men were nervous about
attractive, rich and strong rivals, but taller men were more relaxed. Women
were jealous of other women’s beauty or charm. Well no surprises there. But
these researchers say that short and tall women were the most jealous. I don’t
see the correlation, do you? They go on to say that if you’re just average
height, then you’re probably not that jealous about anyone, but you’ll probably
feel insecure about women who were of a different height. What are they on
about?

Harry

I’m sure there are a lot of people excited to hear about the plans for the last
film of the Harry Potter series of books. And judging by how big each book was,
I’m amazed that this hasn’t happened earlier. But I read that the seventh and
final Harry Potter book will be adapted for the big screen in two parts. It
seems like the director has found it impossible to cram the entire final book
into just one film. And the producers realise how passionate Harry Potter fans
are, so they don’t want to leave any bit out of the final film. Astonishingly
the first five movies made £2.2 billion pounds worldwide. I bet J K Rowling
could never have dreamt that her stories would make so much money for her! The
box office takings have made this film franchise the biggest in box office
history, surpassing the James Bond films and Star Wars. There’s still a wait
for the film though for fans. Filming has started already, but we won’t get the
first instalment of the final Harry Potter until Autu!
 mn 2010.

Well, that's it from me for now. Just finally I can give a mention to Alan
Johnston, the BBC reporter, who was kidnapped for one hundred and fourteen days
in Gaza, whilst reporting there. Last night he received a standing ovation from
the audience at last night’s World Service awards ceremony when he took an
‘outstanding contribution’ award. It was actually exactly twelve months ago
yesterday on 12th March that he was abducted in Gaza. So congratulations to
Alan for that award.

Take care and have a lovely day,

Peter
