Good morning, all (at least it is where I am)...

First off. Eww, yuck. HTML e-mail. You're about to lose posting

It's been a while since I have been scolded for HTML e-mail...wonder why
that is? @@#$# Thunderbird! I knew I should have never upgraded from
Pine/Elm/Mutt/mail. :+} Hopefully this email doesn't contain HTML,
Matthew, since I changed my Thunderbird setting, but let me know if it
still messes up your text-base client!
Guys, you'll have to come up with something a lot more substantial in the way
of an argument for "hands on" testing to replace what LPI is currently doing
than IMHO arguments.
I had thought that Sander did provide more that IMHO and I was just
agreeing with him. I think a very large debate can be had (and has
already started on this thread) on the advantages and disadvantages of
"hands on" exams vs. "computer-based" exams - both have their merits and
drawbacks.
At the end of the debate, however, I believe that you need to realize
that the overall opinion of the Linux community should be the driving
factor. If the community believes that a certification earned by taking
"hands on" exams has a higher value than certification earned by taking
"computer-based" exams, then that should be the deciding factor in the
matter.
Has any survey ever been done by LPI to determine while exam method is
perceived to hold greater value in the Linux community? It would be
interesting/fun to have two articles written (one each to describe the
benefits of each model) and then follow them up with a survey...
