You can do some testing with it...by default it will do 5 polls to verify the numbers are stable. This WILL delay your throughput. The numbers I have there keep jobs moving reasonably well (and with only one poll before the job starts...I don't see the point in doing 5 polls when the printer isn't printing anything).
