With the patch I sent you shouldn't have to use pagecount_poll... oh... you will probably need to add "pjl_job_nopoll" to your ifhp config.... I guess I forgot to mention that earlier.... When we started hardware pagecounting with LPRng there was a *big* increase in the time between jobs. Before pagecounting, the jobs would just get spooled on the printer and would start to be processed as soon as the last one finished. With pagecounting, the next job doesn't get sent until the previous one is done with all the paper. I think we're at about 8s between when the last sheet is ejected and the printer starts to print the next job. Our LJ8150 can process the PS fairly fast for more simple jobs and most of the time now is waiting for the last sheet to be ejected before it gets the next job. We use software accounting in some cases... but creative PS jobs can do very interesting things to that!
