Does the 8150 also accept raw as a port? e.g. .common:cm=Common Settings:done_jobs=0:sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P:mx=0:sh:lf=log hp4mv:cm=B Size LaserJet by Optra:tc=.common:rm=1xx.1xx.xx.177:rp=raw
works fine on the hp4mv's jetdirect. It's probably an older version than you have in the 8150, but it might be worth a try. Also, if you're printing from Win2k/XP, try setting up a (local) TCP/IP port, and print to LPRng via that; that will take Samba out of the equation, and make troubleshooting a bit simpler. Port Name=LPRng queue name for the 8150 Printer Name or IP Address=LPRng server host name/IP address Protocol=LPR Queue Name=LPRng queue name for the 8150 LPR Byte Counting Enabled=Yes SNMP Status Enabled=your call, No on my boxen.
