notes: this happens with certain pdf files like the one at http://www.msu.edu/~omalleys/lecture.pdf The one the mac recreated is: http://www.msu.edu/~omalleys/lecture2.pdf
LPRng with the same file works well with the file when it is printed from MacOS 10.3. The Windows Printer driver version is 5.01. or PSCRIPT5.DLL I just noticed that the Data Format for the Driver is 'RAW' since it is be redirected to LPT5 (I don't think they figured out how to get the driver working with usernames or authenticated.) and the security is actually taken care of through rembo and not windows. Would this make a difference? Also when you look at the dfAx file with file it returns PJL instead of Postscript like the Mac dfAx file does. It looks like the driver is sending postscript wrapped in PJL with the first file. The second it is sending a postscript file with embedded /PDF commands. The Mac dfA file does not have these and it is bigger in general. IS there a way to sanitize the raw data back to postscript? Would a2ps or some other utility work? And how do you configure that as a filter for LPRng? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- YOU MUST BE A LIST MEMBER IN ORDER TO POST TO THE LPRNG MAILING LIST The address you post from MUST be your subscription address If you need help, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or lprng-requests or lprng-digest-requests) with the word 'help' in the body. For the impatient, to subscribe to a list with name LIST, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with: | example: subscribe LIST <mailaddr> | subscribe lprng-digest [EMAIL PROTECTED] unsubscribe LIST <mailaddr> | unsubscribe lprng [EMAIL PROTECTED] If you have major problems, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word LPRNGLIST in the SUBJECT line. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
