Hello,

I'm not sure if our case is the same; however, we are
currently experiencing problems printing some pdf files.

We have clients who cannot print certain (not all) pdf documents
when being view by adobe's browser plugin. The print job is sent to
the holding queues, and when it is released, nothing comes out of
the printer. We've tested this on IE and Netscape from both Macs
and PCs.

One of our students noticed that when you print some pdf documents
from secured web sites (viewed by the plugin), the filename sent to
the queue is very long (usually a long url).

Our quick solution is:

1. Save the document on the desktop.
2. Shorten the filename.
3. Open the pdf file in adobe reader and reprint the job.

The filename trick may sound weird; however, whenever someone
cannot print a pdf file (being viewed by the browser plugin), the
above trick usually works.

We haven't had the time to pinpoint the exact cause of this situation.
We thought about editing our incoming control filter to limit the
filename length; however we haven't had to chance to do it.

- Kyle
