Minutes for UA MOPS meeting, May 23, 2006
In attendance:
Tim Axelrod, Bongki Moon, Scott Morris, Francesco Pierfederici, Praveen Rao
Main points:
o Francesco said PS used MySql to store tracklets, detections and other
state of simulations. He also said that about 15-20 tables were defined
in the PS-MOPS database (in the XMI format). Tim said EA provides a free
viewer for XMI documents.
o In oder to access and evaluate the JPL orbit fitting package, Scott
was asked to work with Francesco. For now, the best way of doing this
appears to get an account on their machines and run the codes there.
o As a related subject, we discussed the ORSA package created by Pasquale
Tricarico for orbit fitting. Performance was a concern with ORSA.
Tim said this might provide us with an insight to performance issues.
o Scott reported the progress of the 2D K&S test.
o Praveen came back from the SPIE conference, and conveyed questions from
a couple of conference attendees. Praveen said he would spend more time
on understanding the overall design of PS-MOPS.
o Since Francesco would leave for Hawaii this Thursday, we tentatively
agreed that meetings with teleconf would be arranged in the afternoon
on Tuesday, due to the time difference between Hawaii and Tucson.
