Hello,

Here it is (in attachment). Keep in mind that, as I have already mentioned in a previous meeting, there are no foreign keys specified in the schema definition. The "class diagram" that I circulated a while ago had been produced by reverse-engineering this SQL schema with manual linking of the tables as I saw fit and reasonable - which turned out to be a pretty good job ;-)

Cheers
Francesco

Hello all,

If we can get a copy of the MOPS schema in SQL, we can import it into
Enterprise Architect to create the ER diagram. Jacek Becla knows how to do
this and the "gotchas" to look out for.

Subject: [LSST-data] Minutes of UA CS MOPS meeting for 06/06, 2006

Minutes for UA MOPS meeting, June 06, 2006

In attendance:
Kobus Barnard, Bongki Moon, Francesco Pierfederici (phone), Praveen Rao,
 Mohamad Hegazy

Main points:

o Mohamad Hegazy joined us for the metting. He is an MS studnet in CS who is potentially interested in joining the team. This is good news because Scott Morris will be reducing his time commitment to the project. We are hopeful that Mohamad will pick up some of Scott's duties in the upcomming
   weeks.

o Praveen discussed Rob Jedicke's documents regarding the overview of operations, software for orbit proximity, use of JPL package, file format,
   etc.

o Francesco reported that what we call the "progjection pipeline" is far from finished in the PanSTARS system. Since this is a critical piece of
infrastructure for our approach, it is a likely candidate for
co-development. The issues are congruent with Praveen Rao's research
interests, but we are open to dicsussion on how to distrubute the
   development.

o Francesco said PS is willing to provide us with accounts on their machines so that we can have access to the JPL package. More detail should come
   forth.

o Francesco was asked to investigate more on the database schema design, whose overview was given us in a pdf format. Among others, there was
a few design issues around the tracklets and orbits. Examples are:
Is an orbit stored as a collection of tracklets? How are they related to each other in the schema design, via a foreign key? Is any ER-diagram
   available?
