Almost definitely, unless it's a really old LCD one. You can see the  
difference even from the default LDM login screen. At 16-bit, the blue  
background is noticeably barred with distinct colour bands.

There's really no difference between the visual appearance of 24-bit  
to 32-bit colour, most drivers do not distinguish between these two  
SFAIK. RGB information is always 8-8-8, sometime 32-bit can mean an  
alpha channel.

I don't think there's anyone using deep colour with X is there? I'd be
