Its called regulation to prevent monopolies. Monopolies, as we know on this list, are not a good idea. And comcast has a monopoly on delivering broadband services to your house. That is why they make a pretty insane amount of money, and why the US lags behind in broadband services. (http://www.oecd.org/document/54/0,3343,en_2649_34225_38690102_1_1_1_1,00.html The US is only 15th in the world with subscribers/100 people. see download 1d)
In countries where there is more regulation, broadband is more common than in the US. it seems that there will be change, also in this area, and the government will step in http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/2009-The-FCC-Finally-Makes-A-Broadband-Plan-101787 rgds, Reinier Battenberg Director Mountbatten Ltd. +256 782 801 749 www.mountbatten.net Be a professional website builder: www.easysites.ug On Monday 20 April 2009 20:22:39 Niles Collins wrote: > I always thought that the cable was being run from SA up the coast to the > middle east and then out to india.
