Anthony >> Each recording is of a different instrument, so it is difficult to compare in any very serious way. However, I think I like the more <<
No, they're all on the same 8-course, except the Zamboni. You can compare the last three in a serious way, same mics, same room, I didn't move, just different mic placements. I agree with the high pass (low cut) filter, it does cut-out information. I've tested it to hear what would happen. It does take some back ground rumble away, that is good, it lifts some of the pressure on the ears (good) but it also makes the lute sound a little lighter and I'm not sure I like that. The -10dB I tried was not good: yes, it reduces background noise but it also changes the sound of the instrument. As natural as possible, I'm aiming at. So far the omni caps give the most natural sound, but the cardioide caps are easier to handle. So much more to test, and actually I want to play. So that's why it's a new piece every time, I study while recording. It's a good way to study. David **************************** David van Ooijen [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.davidvanooijen.nl **************************** David natural resonance of the Johnson, Galiarde to delighte, with mics, and I felt you were really enjoying playing it, so it also delighted me. I dare say that the low pass filter may cut-out some information, but then MP3 does so, in any case.
