Dear Edward Yes, I've read Taruskin and enjoyed it; there's a lot in his writing that resonates with me. The other writers I mentioned were: P. G. Wodehouse (you must know Bertie Wooster and Jeeves. Lesson: life is a continuous joke if you have an eye for it). Eihan Dōgen Zenji, founder of Soto Zen (scour my 'writings' page for some articles on lute playing and Zen) and A. A. Milne (Pooh-bear, no need for further introduction). I think I've made my point: don't take me too seriously. ;-) David -- ******************************* David van Ooijen [email protected] www.davidvanooijen.nl ******************************* To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
