    Well, you have no need to do any global upgrade. Just upgrade the
libfm and pcmanfm anytime you want to refresh it - you can add repo,
upgrate only the pcmanfm and related packages, then remove the repo. I
already told the same to someone in IRC few hours ago and he left very
happy. :D  Just execute next commands under root:

add-apt-repository ppa:lubuntu-dev/lubuntu-daily
apt-get update
apt-get install pcmanfm
add-apt-repository --remove ppa:lubuntu-dev/lubuntu-daily
apt-get update

and that's all, that's "pull packages from a PPA" which you wanted to
learn above. :)  The Dual Pane implementation will be in that PPA after
next build (I believe it's around next GMT midnight). Your suggestions
are already there, BTW.
