That's just the intended division of labour between 'the programmer'
and 'the translator'. The translator can't (shouldn't) change the
code, but can complain to the programmers about any changes for the
worse, just like any user reporting bugs.

I disagree, he can say what exactly he wants changed (back).
(general sounds of unhappiness don't help 'the programmers'
much to understand what's wrong.)
