On generating dvi files: what does this message mean?

MakeTeXPK: /var/lib/texmf/fonts/pk/ljfour/public/cm/cmr7.600pk already exists.
pclose(MakeTeXPK): No child processes
kpathsea: Probably this is the pclose bug in
kpathsea: some versions of Linux; continuing.
