as a last resort you can try to compile qt's locally and install them into eg ~/tree/. then configure lyx for qt's having in ~/tree/ , probably also with install prefix to ~/tree/. compile it, install and run from ~/tree/bin/lyx. its of course waste of resources, but if nothing else helps... pavel
