We use this for printing our seed labels and order receipts, so nothing fancy, but quick is better. Also cheap as we have a low budget. Problem is that I really don't want to upgrade from OS8.6 as everything **works** perfectly (apart from the deskwriter :-) at the moment.
So I'm looking for:
-B&W, 300dpi min, no need for photograde at all
-at least 10 ppm, better 14 ..
-works well with OS 8.6
-easily refillable cartridges!
-reliable mechanism that doesn't jam easily or fail to pick up pages
-and it'll probably have to be USB though if people still make 9-pin serial that would be simpler. {I have a PB3400 but think I can get a USB card to work in it.}
- proper paper tray that will take at least 10 sheets or so.
So, recommendations of makes/models would be great. I've really HATED all the HP printers we've had in the past, the drivers were terrible and the machines themselves have a huge margin that can't be printed on. But perhaps that has changed?
