I�ve always had excellent results from Brother lasers � very reliable, and cheaper than HP. The only disadvantage is that Brother drivers are not supplied as part of MacOS X distributions � you have to download them and install them separately. Having said that, Brother are very quick in bringing out revised versions of their drivers when necessary.
I would 100% support the suggestion to get a laser printer � I really don�t understand why so many people automatically get inkjet printers for general black and white printing when they don�t produce such good results, are much slower to print, way more expensive to run, and don�t last as long because of head blockages, relative mechanical complexity etc. The only benefit that I can see is that they do print in colour as well as black and white. But most general office printing that people do is black and white, in my experience.
