I've been saying it since I got 10.4 when it came out, I'm glad it's not just me then... Back on the topic in hand (the G3) I also felt seeing as I was doing a shakedown on all the things on a G3 B&W to look out for, the FireWire tends to be a bit flakey on them. It depends what you use it for, but generally if you plug more than one thing in it falls over. I found this out to my cost when i tired to use an iSight and a FW Hard Disk at the same time. No harm done but the iSight cut out in the middle of a video chat :(. I put a PCI Firewire card in mine and it seems to be ok now. I only use 1 device on the on-board bus and one on the card. -- Mark Benson http://homepage.mac.com/markbenson -- Mac UK is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Mac UK list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/mac-uk.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[email protected]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-uk%40mail.maclaunch.com/> iPod Accessories for Less at 1-800-iPOD.COM Fast Delivery, Low Price, Good Deal www.1800ipod.com
