Sounds like a good thing to do would be to drop insight phone.:)

I have insight only for cable TV don't like to put all my eggs in one basket.

new modem handles my broadband and landline phone while the old one only does 
broadband.

For broadband alone, I suspect any DOCSIS 3 compatible modem would work. Maybe 
it's time to cut the telephone cord and go all cell.
