I also like a little redundancy, esp. with the phones. We still have an 
old-fashioned landline, simply because the only utility that does has never 
failed ever [1] for us is the landline, so it is an expensive insurance policy 
for emergencies.

Of course, if we had decent cell-phone service, I might feel a little 
differently, but as it is, our house is in a dead zone, and seems it will 
forever be in a dead zone.
