Charles, That worked. I now have the DE10-Nano booting into Debian Stretch console. I just formatted the Angstrom partitition, expanded the partition to fill the uSD card, made an ext4 partition out of it, and then followed Robert Nelson's instructions to expand the minfs tar into the directory.
