I know what I would do. (Aghast!) I would get
Microsoft's Media Player for Mac (software) and upgrad to
8.5 or 8.6 on an old mac and use it for the dedicated
machine on my network...on the other hand, when you get
the network set up, you can open the harddrive on the
imac on any other mac and play the Microsoft's Media
Player for Mac and control it from there...don't have to
do anything else or spend anymore money. When I d/l it,
Media Player was freeware...
