You can't compare iTunes to any sort of media player (from microsoft or real networks, or whoever). iTunes is _not_ a media player, it is an MP3 player.
Compare iTunes to SoundJam and other MP3 players. Compare windows media player, real player to other media players like QuickTime. Also, windows media player for any OS is is riveted with bugs and short comings. I know many people who refuse to install it. > mess...not comptable with lots of browsers... Lots of browsers?
