I have a Barricade, same model. On the Macs, I have TCP/IP set for either DCHP or static IP, depending on the Mac. Of course, set for connect via Ethernet. TCP/IP is set for Active, load only when needed.
I was looking at my SMC settings, and the only thing I can think of, if you've followed the manual for LAN settings, is in the modem settings, to be sure the user name and password are correct. Is it possible the router is trying to connect but not being authenticated? Check the status screen to see if there is any activity in the Security Log. I'll try to help more if I can.
