I'm WAY behind in email, and just saw this. You may have already dealt
with it, but I'll answer now:
Just as a thought--do you have the most recent version/patch of SMC's
firmware installed? Login to the router and go to the "Tools" page. Click
on "Update Firmware." It'll tell you the current firmware. I'm at
Current Firmware Version: V1.40.001; Firmware Date: 10-30-2001
You can click to d/l the current version, if you're not current.
My TCP/IP settings are:
Connect via Ethernet
configure Using DHCP server
The IP address is therefore assigned by the router. And the subnet mask
(255.255.255.0) and router address (192.168.2.1) come from the router.
I then have my ISP's DNS (name server) addresses in that field.
