It's only built-in on 8.5 or 8.6 (I don't know which), but for the older OS's, you can download and install a newer set of AppleShare Client software on top of the older OS. The link in my previous post describes which versions of AppleShare Client are compatible with which MacOS versions, and has links to download the installers from Apple.
