Only OS X 10.4 "Tiger". This only supports connections over AppleShare

Actually, you can retrofit AppleShare Client software that supports TCP/IP to systems back as far as Mac OS 7.5.3.

I connect to my home server running Mac OS X Server 10.4 from an old Mac Performa 476 running system 7.6.1.

I haven't had much luck getting LPR printing to work from the Performa to the OS X server, though.
