there is a good chance the iMac uses an LVDI interface internally; this interface was only used for a few external monitors, such as the SGI 1600sw; because i had one of those monitors i know that SGI sold a DVI to LVDI converter box that worked very well; it is also possible to obtain LVDI chipsets, so with some very astute cable splicing and some circuit board assembly, there is at least a theoretical a way to use your iMac as a monitor; have fun and report back to use with your results ;?>
