It is amazing how people see a new feature and automatically seem to assume that that feature is going to become the only way to interact in the future
For example, this full-screen stuff etc. I seriously doubt that Apple, anytime in the near or near-far future will get rid of windowing etc. It is an additional way of displaying apps/windows for people who like that way. Full screen seems to be popular with Windows users and with the growth in the Mac being Windows users coming to the Mac, it seems that Apple saw a chance at doing something to help make these folks happy as well as to get some continuity going with certain sorts of apps with iOS. Another example is the Mac App Store. People immediately think that Apple will close the system and all Apps will have to go through the Mac App Store. Apple knows better than to do that on the Mac. It is easier on a system like the iPhone to do that than it is for a general purpose computer that only has 10+ years on the market (OS X) and 26 years by name (Macintosh / 1984). The Mac App Store intrigues me but unfortunately they won't take apps that are on a subscription basis (even if the renewal goes through them it seems) if I read the guidelines correctly, and my app I want to get out the door is a specialty app that instead of charging several hundred dollars for I wanted to charge a yearly $30-$40 for...
