Comparing an arbitrary script is not necessarily a 'fair' or 'clean' test from one system to another. I would suggest working with the Benchmark module available from CPAN. This is designed to function in this capacity and is more appropriate for performance testing. As has been noted previously in responses to this query, there are a lot of things that a script might do, without divulging your script, this would probably be your best course of action.
