Hi, First, that splitter is mostly a visual thing for sighted users to affect the layout of the Mail screen. Depending on the splitter, it can remove the Preview pane so that one must actually open a message to read it instead of previewing it. This shouldn't affect how VO reads your messages though as the look of the page is, more or less, immaterial to VO reading. If you can be "jumped" over to the Messages Table, then you should be able to read its contents. The Archive Mailbox is likely part of your Gmail account. Gmail prefers to Archive messages instead of deleting or trashing them. So, any Gmail messages that you've deleted in the past normally would end up in this Archive MailBox. I'm wondering if you have the AllMail Mailbox turned off in your Gmail settings at the web-interface. That is, back in earlier versions the Mac OS, you needed to turn off this feature of Gmail to optimize your use of the Apple Mail client with GMail's iMap-ish servers. Not that Gmail's web-interface is particularly easy to navigate, but you need to get into your Gmail settings here to confirm this. What you need to do is make sure that the AllMail file is visible to iMap clients. The way that Mavericks Mail deals with GMail's iMap service was changed so that this "AllMail" is necessary to make it run properly.
