Hi, This link refers to the way that Gmail labels your messages and how that can cause issues. Gmail, for the most part, implements a purposely different iMap where messages are given labels for organizational reasons. That is, all messages have the AllMail label and those in your InBox are also given the InBox label. If you "move" any message from the InBox to, let's say, your "Action Items" mailbox, then the Inbox label is removed and an "Action Items" label is assigned to that message. As well, when you press the Delete key to get rid of a message, Gmail puts the Archive label on it. From a web-interface point of view, this is quite a good format as you can place multiple labels on one message, essentially saving the need to have duplicates when you wish a message to be in multiple locations. From a Mail client prospective, this is a little awkward and Apple's implementation was flawed at the initial stages of Mavericks. Gmail works well for me now with Mail so I'm assuming that things have improved in the way that Gmail and Apple Mail talk to each other.
If these accounts are iMap accounts, I suggest that you delete them from your Mac then Quit out of Mail, then re-add them to see if it behaves better. I also still recommend that you look at your AllMail setting I mentioned in my earlier post first before you attempt the delete/re-add process. HTH. Later...
