I was actually refused dialysis even though I was suffering horribly with so much fluid retention that moisture was seeping through my skin. A very compassionate doctor eventually got me onto a dialysis machine and saved my life.
The French are not particularly Islamaphobic, they just don’t like visible signs of belonging to a particular religion since the state is officially secular. There are, however, around six million Muslims in France which is almost a tenth of the population. Of course, France has its share of bigots of all kinds, just like everywhere else.
