:) It only took me 3 days to fix it. And about 4-5 hours to restore.
Oh it was full moon this weekend... Heh.

Hi,
No, you don't need to at all. It was just a question to help debug things. It
looks like you've handled it already, though. Glad I waited long enough to not
have to contribute much :).

Tim,
I had done all that and as a last resort, I restored from a backup to start
over and doing nothing different, it worked this time.
I do not subscribe to either Apple Music or Match, not sure I need to.

Hi ET,
Try opening iTunes, then up to the File menu, down to Library, then choose
either Organize or Consolidate Library. Either or both to see if iTunes begins
to recognize your library on the Mac first. A side question, do you subscribe
to either Apple Music or iTunes Match and thus have a Cloud based library?

Turns out not to be the Apple TV. iTunes 12.7 is not seeing my content, none
of it. Its all there but its not associating the content with my library. I
tested buy moving some home videos then copying back to the Automatically Add

I have no experience of using the Apple TV but I do experience from time to

example my Windows machine and my Mac.
Generally this gets resolves after time but it may take a day for the machines

symptom of the Apple Servers struggling.
Maybe 24 hours will sort it.

Holding the option key while opening iTunes was my first step. Also
went into preferences to select the new location. The library is
available on the Mac but the ATV does not see it. Unplugged the box,
still not working.

My own solution was a little different. Rather than merely changing iTunes to
the new location from the old, I pressed the CMD key when launching iTunes.
This forced iTunes to ask me for a library location. I pointed the location
path to my external USB drive and I made sure it took which it did. One
important note to bear in mind. When setting up your location you want to work
it so that the path is exactly like what you see below.
External Drive (equals the actual name of your external drive) sub folder
path if any and finally, the actual folder named “iTunes” To give you the path
example I myself am using:

Hello E.T.,
I’m not certain but, if memory serves, the last time I relocated my iTunes
media I:
1.
Made certain that I could play all of the media in iTunes by selecting a few
items and playing them back on my computer.
2.
Reboot my computer and Start iTunes.
3.
Power off my Apple TV by unplugging it for a minute or so, then rebooting Apple
TV.
After that, all worked as expected.

Subject: Apple TV and iTunes Library
Over the weekend I moved my iTunes Library to a larger external drive. I pointed
iTunes to the new location. Started up the ATV and I get "no content in this
library". Wifi connection is good, home sharing is on. I can see the content on the
Mac. What am I missing?
