Hi Simon,
I guess its all in the eye of the beholder. My new TV will not be
4k. just outdated 1080p. (smiles)

Hi ET,
I have to admit I still or did on my gen 4 use the older of the remotes as it

I personally think the gen 4 is the nicer device, and hey, I'm watching it
and I'm blind, why does 4 K display matter,
The sound still comes through the same sonos play speakers.

Simon,
Guess I will keep my ATV 3rd and enjoy my content that is now there.
Restored the iTunes backup, did nothing any different than before.

I’ve just recently got the apple tv4k and I gotta admit I’m not a fan
of it’s interfaces.
It seems to be slower than the aTV 4gen
But IOS 11 seems to be really screwy
It doesn’t like moving between contents within apps, and It seems to
want me to double click on things rather than the old single click on
a show for streaming.
As for accessing my content it definitely is slower but that may be
server related.

I have no experience of using the Apple TV but I do experience from
time to time a curious lag in iTunes syching and communicating across
devices. For example my Windows machine and my Mac.
Generally this gets resolves after time but it may take a day for the
machines to catch upwith each other. I have speculated that this slow
response may be a symptom of the Apple Servers struggling.
Maybe 24 hours will sort it.

Holding the option key while opening iTunes was my first step.
Also
went into preferences to select the new location. The library is
available on the Mac but the ATV does not see it. Unplugged the box,
still not working.

My own solution was a little different. Rather than merely changing
iTunes to the new location from the old, I pressed the CMD key when
launching iTunes. This forced iTunes to ask me for a library

I made sure it took
which it did. One important note to bear in mind. When setting up
your location you want to work it so that the path is exactly like
what you see below.
External Drive (equals the actual name of your external drive) sub folder
path if any and finally, the actual folder named “iTunes” To give you the path

Hello E.T.,
I’m not certain but, if memory serves, the last time I relocated my iTunes
media I:
1.
Made certain that I could play all of the media in iTunes by selecting a few
items and playing them back on my computer.
2.
Reboot my computer and Start iTunes.
3.
Power off my Apple TV by unplugging it for a minute or so, then rebooting Apple
TV.
After that, all worked as expected.

Over the weekend I moved my iTunes Library to a larger external drive. I pointed
iTunes to the new location. Started up the ATV and I get "no content in this
library". Wifi connection is good, home sharing is on. I can see the content on the
Mac. What am I missing?
