Thanks, Alex, for your help. I just tried deleting the apps. Problem still the same.
I'm a little reluctant to reset the settings. Don't really like the thought of having to set everything up again. Would this include Mail, Contacts and Calendars? If it didn't fix the problem, would I be able to restore to a back up? Can I stop iTunes from backing the phone up when I reset it? In any case, I guess this will have to wait until I've got my hands on someone who can see. Losing VoiceOver is not something I'm keen to do at the moment. :) thanks again for your help!
