The PC is located 3 meters away from the AP. I'm having problems with loss
of connectivity and low speeds.

The iwconfig output you quote is made from the described position, 3m away
from the AP? If so, that looks more like a physical problem, such as when
the pigtail is not fixed properly to the antenna connector of the card.
